What a reward! We worked on 4 of the 10 winning projects of the Award of Architecture Excellence of the Ordre des Architectes du Québec, including the two Great Award of Architecture Excellence !
The Ordre des Architectes du Québec professional association has unveiled the decisions of the jury and the public for the 2023 edition: in particular, the two Grand Prizes of Excellence of the jury were awarded to the Metamorphosis of the Insectarium and the Renovation of the Centre Culturel Desjardins.
The results of this prestigious competition highlight A7hz Acoustics expertise and know-how to offer a quality environment within such cultural venues.
– The Insectarium of the Botanical Garden project is part of an innovative approach to redefine the link between humans and the planet. The acoustic and vibratory design of the different spaces of the museum had to allow a better sensory experience in this place of awakening and discovery. The participation to this project was realized jointly with the architects Kuehn Malvezzi, Pelletier De Fontenay and Jodoin Lamarre Pratte architects.
– The challenge of renovating the Centre Culturel Desjardins was twofold: to provide an acoustic environment in keeping with the requirements of a multidisciplinary cultural hall, and to preserve the aesthetics of a heritage architecture. This project was carried out in collaboration with the architectural team of Atelier TAG.
In parallel to the Grands Prix d’Excellence d’Architecture 2023, two projects on which we worked were also awarded by the Ordre des Architectes in Quebec 2023:
– the MIL Campus Science Complex with Menkès Shooner Dagenais LeTourneux Architects, Lemay, NFOE Inc.
– Esplanade Tranquille du Quartier des Spectacles with fabg Architects
