 Global description

The project management team from the convention center of Montreal have detected a bad acoustic in the room 710AB. This bad acoustics is harmful to the holding of quality events. The room 517AB has a comparable volume and area as the problematic room and has no acoustic problem until now.  Therefore, it has been used as a reference in order to set achievable acoustics objectives.

 Challenge

The objective of the acoustic study is to sizing acoustic corrections in one of the conference room (type, dimensions, prices, etc.) so that its acoustics reaches the acoustic performances of a control room.  Professional 3D software of shooting acoustic particles EASE was used associated with the SketchUp drawing software. The results of the calculations and the acoustic conception common rules of the rooms allowed to size adapted acoustic treatments and cost evaluation.
