The project includes a 23-storey residential tower with 180 apartments. The study, separated into three parts, namely: Curtain wall, Floor-ceiling and Building. Each component consisted of defining their sound level objectives, taking into account the regulations, mapping the sound level on the site and designing computer simulations of the site configurations to optimize sound insulation performance. Finally, mitigation solutions were sized as well as recommendations relating to each component.
The main challenge encountered was the scope of the project. Indeed, the sound environment on the facade of the buildings had to be measured on each floor, under different conditions and taking into account the functioning or not of the mechanical equipment of the building.
