REM station at Pierre-Elliott Trudeau Airport
Global description
This project concerns the monitoring of noise and vibrations emitted by the construction work of the REM station at Pierre-Elliott Trudeau Airport in Montreal. Atelier 7hz drafted the noise management program and the vibration management program, for the different phases of the project, with the aim of determining the feasible measures to minimize the impacts and identify the follow-up measures required.
Challenges
Sensitive areas such as a nursery, two hotels and the landing stage are present in the immediate vicinity of the works. An assessment of the sound levels before the works was carried out for these sensitive areas, and an assessment of the foreseeable impact of the works during the different phases was then carried out. In the event of foreseeable exceedances of the regulatory thresholds, sound attenuation measures have been recommended.
