Residential Site Faubourg-Richelieu, Beloeil

 Global description

The Labato Group plans to implant a residential and a commercial project in Beloeil, along the A20 highway. At the request of the city of Beloeil, an acoustic survey of the site was entrusted to Atelier 7hz in order to measure the noise level on the residential site of the project, to simulate the sound level on the site and to propose mitigation solution in the event of overruns according to the regulations in place.

Challenges

The planned residential site is composed of buildings of 4 and 6 floors. It is framed by De l’industrie and Richelieu streets. The A20 highway is located south of the site about 100 meters away. The A20 highway being elevated at this place, beginning of the bridge above the Richelieu, this makes a major problem for sizing noise barriers of reasonable height. Urban planning solutions by judiciously arranging the different types of buildings have been found.
