Arena Cloutier in Rouyn-Noranda – Study of reverberation

Global description

The Cloutier arena, located in the city of Rouyn-Noranda, is a building offering a regulatory, non-refrigerated ice surface and accessory rooms. The types of events in this arena are mainly team sports activities. The study includes determining the reverberation time of the Cloutier Arena which, if significantly high, is therefore uncomfortable. Indeed, complaints have been received from users of this arena.

Challenges

The arena was modeled in 3 dimensions and integrated with sound simulation software in order to determine the various predictable acoustic criteria inside such as the reverberation time, and to determine an acoustic treatment according to the defined objectives.
